ANTONIO REYNOSO IS RUNNING FOR CONGRESS

Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso is running for Congress to succeed outgoing Representative Nydia Velázquez - an icon in her own right and a proud supporter of Antonio’s campaign.

Throughout his career in public service, Antonio has fought for - and delivered on - the issues that matter most to communities across Brooklyn and Queens. He has stood up to ICE’s abuses, advanced meaningful criminal justice reform, held predatory landlords accountable, secured historic investments to confront the maternal health care crisis, and championed a more affordable and equitable New York - long before these priorities became mainstream Democratic positions.

Grounded in the neighborhoods of North Brooklyn and the Queens waterfront, Antonio is ready to bring his record of bold, principled leadership to Congress.

READ WHO’S STANDING WITH ANTONIO

Antonio has always put working New Yorkers and their families first, which is why progressive leaders and organizations are behind him.

From outgoing trailblazing Rep. Nydia Velazquez, to national progressive hero Attorney General Tish James and NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams - Antonio has the support of the leaders that New Yorkers trust the most.

He also has the support of the grassroots advocates and organizations that have been on the front lines of fighting for those in the margins: the New York Working Families Party, Make the Road-New York Action, and Churches United for Fair Housing-Action, as well as powerful labor unions, such as 32BJ-SEIU and the Hotel Trades Council.

A TRAILBLAZING BOROUGH PRESIDENT

In 2021, Antonio was elected the 20th Borough President of Brooklyn - becoming the first Latino to hold the office and the youngest Borough President in decades. He has used the role to drive innovation, equity, and investment across Brooklyn. One of his signature achievements is securing $45 million in capital funding to expand maternal health facilities at NYC Health + Hospitals campuses across the borough, addressing a devastating public health crisis and confronting longstanding racial disparities in maternal mortality. Antonio won re-election in 2025 with over 77% of the vote in the June primary and 82% of the vote in the November general election.

As Borough President, Antonio has proven he can deliver real change. Now he’s ready to bring that leadership to Congress.

ABOUT ANTONIO

The son of Dominican immigrants, Antonio Reynoso grew up in the Los Sures section of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where he still lives with his wife and two young children. Growing up in Section 8 housing, attending local public schools, and relying on community social service programs, Antonio experienced firsthand the challenges facing working families - and developed a deep commitment to public service early in life.

Antonio was first elected to public office in 2013 at the age of 29, representing Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Ridgewood on the New York City Council. During his two terms, he emerged as a leader within the Progressive Caucus and built a reputation as an unwavering advocate for communities too often ignored by traditional politics.
